Labor union materials (1936-1972) including papers and published items relating to labor unions and labor education, parliamentary procedures, time study, labor and political leaders, labor drama and literature, and Bishop's duties as education and Connecticut regional director of United Automobile Workers (under its various names); correspondence, reports, minutes, newspaper clippings, printed materials, and other papers, pertaining to his activities as member of university board of trustees, Connecticut Commission on Higher Education, and Governor's Fact-Finding Commission on Education; information concerning University Health Center and Labor Education Center; and papers (1924-1947) of his wife, Dorothy H. Bishop, also a labor leader, dealing with her work in the labor movement including course notes and materials from Brookwood Labor College, Katonah, N.Y., information regarding women in the labor movement, and YWCA materials.
